Paper-Based HSK Test
To take the paper-based HSK test, you will be required to sit at a desk with the question papers and answer sheets for the listening, reading, and writing sections (level 3-6 only) in an official HSK test center. You will need to write your answers with a 2B-pencil.

*Starting from January 2025, HSK, also known as the Chinese Proficiency Test and the HSKK (oral test) in the Netherlands will be combined as follows:
Candidates who register for HSK3 test are required to register for HSKK Beginner level at the same time.
Candidates who register for HSK4 test are required to register for HSKK Intermediate level at the same time.
Candidates who register for HSK5/6 test are required to register for HSKK Advanced level at the same time.
HSKK test can be registered separately.
Procedure of Individual Registration
1. Log onto the website www.chinesetest.cn
2. Sign up
Provide necessary personal information including e-mail address, nationality, native language, date of birth and other information required.
3. Test registration
First, click the button "book a test" on the main page. Then choose your type of test, test date and test center "Groningen Confucius Institute". If you cannot find our test center in the list, don't worry, that's because the registration is not open yet. Registration usually starts about two months before the test. Then complete your personal information, upload a photo and confirm your registration information.
* Please choose "Groningen Confucius Institute" as the test center when you register. Groningen HSK Test center is the organizer of the test, not the actual location you take test. For more details, please check the test plan.
* Photo size: 15kb~1M. Photo format: jpg, jpeg, png. Photo requirements: must be a recent photo of yourself, headshot clearly visible
4. Pay the test
After your registration, you will receive an invoice from GCI via mail. Please complete your payment before the deadline stated on our website; otherwise, we cannot confirm your registration.
5. Test registration confirmation
After completing the registration and paying the test fee, you will receive a confirmation letter 10 days before the test. If no confirmation is received, please feel free to contact us.
6. Collect/ Print Test Admission Ticket
You can log onto the Chinese Testing Service website to print the Admission Ticket. On the test date, you must bring and present your Test Admission Ticket and identity document to take the test.
7. Cancel the test?
If you cancel the test more than 27 days（China time GMT+8） before the test day, you'll get a full refund.
If you cancel the test less than 27 days but more than 10 days （China time GMT+8）before the test day, you'll get a 50% refund.
If you cancel the test less than 10 days （China time GMT+8）beore the test day, you will get no refund.
