Summer Camp
Every year the Groningen Confucius Institute (GCI) organizes a 2-week Summer Camp in cooperation with the Communication University of China (CUC, Beijing).
Note: Due to internal changes, Groningen Confucius Institute will not be organizing a Summer Camp in 2025. However, we’re excited to take charge of the event again in 2026!
Discover China’s Rich Heritage and Improve Your Chinese!
We would like to invite our non-Chinese students, who have studied Chinese at GCI for at least one semester and obtained HSK1 certificate or higher (contact us if you don't have one yet), aged between 18 and 30 years old and have not participated in a visit to China organized by the Confucius Institute Headquarters to join this programme!
During this trip, participants can experience China’s royal gardens, ancient and modern architecture, sculpture culture, and watch traditional cultural performances in the two famous historical cities of Beijing and Chengdu. Besides experiencing Chinese culture, participants will also practice and improve Chinese language proficiency by taking Chinese lessons, communicating with students from Communication University of China, and chatting with local people during the trip.

The purpose of the Summer Camp is to learn Chinese and experience Chinese culture in China. During this camp you will take part in Chinese language lessons, cultural tours and exchange ideas with teachers and students from China.
The costs of your study and stay will be covered by this programme, while the international flights and visa application fee will be paid by yourselves. A deposit of €150 is required by the registration, which will be refunded after the trip. Your deposit is non-refundable if you decide to withdraw from the Summer Camp after the registration deadline.
