GCI Brings Chinese Traditions to Life at Hortus Open Day
On May 17, the Groningen Confucius Institute was invited to take part in the Open Day at the Hortus Botanical Garden, where it hosted a series of interactive Chinese culture workshops. This year’s event marked the special reopening of the newly restored Chinese Garden.
With a focus on “Chinese Culture,” the Confucius Institute presented hands-on experiences including traditional Chinese painting, Hanfu dress displays, paper folding (origami), and tea ceremonies. The event also featured roaming performances on the guzheng, a traditional Chinese musical instrument.
The Open Day drew over 2,000 visitors and offered a vibrant cultural experience for all ages.
